My brand lived in five different places. Logo on my desktop. Colors buried in Canva. Voice guidelines scattered across Notion pages I created at different times and never finished. Every time I needed to create something, I'd spend the first ten minutes just hunting down the pieces.
The bigger problem was accuracy. When you're pulling from five partial sources, your AI is working with an incomplete picture. And your output reflects that. Close to on-brand, but never quite right.
This week I fixed it. One brand guidelines document. Everything in one place. And Claude Design can install the whole thing in under ten minutes.
The AI Move
Claude Design is Anthropic's new prototyping tool. It installs your brand as a live design system. Colors, fonts, voice. Every design you create after this inherits your brand by default. Here's how to set it up.
Step 1: Use Claude to build your brand guidelines document.
Open Claude in chat or Cowork. Give it your website URL and anything you already have. Ask it to build a brand guidelines document: colors with hex codes, fonts, voice and tone, positioning. Claude uses everything it has access to and asks you where there are gaps. This Week's Prompt below has the exact wording.
Step 2: Save it as a PDF.
That document is your brand system. You only build it once.
Step 3: Go to Claude Design and click "Design Systems."
Find it in your Claude sidebar. Click the Design Systems tab at the top. Then click Create next to "Create new design system."
Step 4: Upload your brand assets and click Generate.
Name your company. Add 2–3 lines about your voice and what you do. Upload your logo (PNG or SVG), your font files (.ttf), and the brand guidelines PDF you just built. Click Generate. Claude extracts your colors, typography, and spacing and builds your full system automatically. Light and dark variants both. Flip through, approve what looks right, re-prompt anything that's off.
Step 5: Start designing by describing.
Click New Design. Pick your brand system. Type one line: "A LinkedIn banner for my AI workshop." Or "An Instagram carousel about productivity." Claude builds it in your colors, your fonts, your voice.
The whole setup takes under ten minutes. After that, every design starts on-brand. Without you hunting anything down first.
This week's prompt
Paste this into Claude before you touch Claude Design. It builds your brand document and fills the gaps.
I want to build a brand guidelines document so I can set up my design system in Claude Design.
Use everything you have access to: my website, any tools you're connected to, anything I've already shared with you. Pull together my brand colors (with hex codes), my fonts, how I sound (voice and tone guidelines), and my positioning.
Where there are gaps or you're not sure about something, ask me. I'd rather answer a few questions and get it right than have you guess.
At the end, I want one clean document I can save as a PDF and upload.
