I’ve been using Grok Bot lately, the AI agent from xAI. It runs on its own computer in the cloud, which means it keeps working after I close my laptop, and the job I love most is a small one.
I connected three of my inboxes and gave it a short list of what matters. When a free trial I signed up for is about to end, it texts me. When an email I’ve been watching for finally lands, it texts me with a reply already sketched out. Those texts come through Inkbox, a free tool that gives an AI agent its own iMessage account, so Grok Bot can text my iPhone the same way a friend would.
Everything else waits until I sit down at my desk, and now my phone only buzzes for the things I said were worth it.
The AI Move
Most of us check our inboxes all day because we’re afraid of missing the one email that matters. An agent can do that watching for you, but only after you tell it what “matters” means. That short list is the whole move.
Three kinds of email usually earn a text:
The test for each item is simple: would missing it cost you money or a client? If everything earns a text, you’ll start ignoring the texts too.
Start small on permissions. The agent reads your inboxes, tells you what it found and sketches out a reply. It never sends, archives or deletes anything. Once its alerts have been right for a couple of weeks, you can decide whether it earns a bigger job.
If you want my exact setup, Grok Bot starts at $30 a month on X’s Premium plan. Inkbox is the piece that lets it text you. You give your agent an Inkbox account, and it can send you iMessages like any contact in your phone. The iMessage version is free for iPhone users, and paid plans add regular texting. Your list works with whichever agent you end up using, so it’s worth writing this week either way.
The goal is a phone you can trust when it buzzes.
This week’s prompt
Paste this into AI. It will help you build your interruption list and turn it into instructions you can hand to any agent.
ROLE: You are my operations assistant. Your job today is to help me decide which emails deserve to interrupt my day.
CONTEXT: I run a [type of business]. I check [number] inboxes: [list them]. Right now I open them about [how often]. The emails I’m most afraid of missing are [two or three examples].
REQUEST: Ask me up to five questions about my clients, my deadlines and my money. Then give me a list of alerts worth a text, each with the exact sender, subject line or keyword to watch for. Everything else goes into one daily summary I read at 5 p.m. Finish by writing instructions I can paste into an AI agent, with one firm rule: read, alert and sketch out replies only. No sending, archiving or deleting.
Agents are moving fast, and they’re easier to figure out alongside other founders trying the same things. The Unstoppable Community opens in Q1 2027, and the waitlist is open now at theunstoppableai.com/community. Early names help decide what we build first.
